Our client is a biologics development group that takes early phase biologics from bench to pilot plant and into clinical trial manufacturing. They currently have a requirement for a Technology Transfer Manager within the Biotherapeutics Development Unit (BDU) reporting into the head of unit.
Within this role you will be responsible for coordination and management of technology transfer of new projects to the BDU. The post holder would be expected to provide technical expertise on all aspects of process development and manufacture of biologics products and take overall responsibility for ensuring that new products are transferred successfully from client centers to the BDU. In addition, the role requires the management and development of personnel within the process development/tech transfer group to increase the technical expertise, particularly in the area of scale-up and tech transfer to GMP.
Requirements
Knowledge and experience:
Experience in Biological Process / Assay Development
Good Manufacturing Practices as applied to investigational medicinal products (IMPs)
Protein chemistry and purification (including cell separation methods, filtration methods and column chromatography)
Mammalian and /or Bacterial cell fermentation (including stirred tank and hollow fibre bioreactors)
Quality Control analysis of biological molecules using techniques such as HPLC, gel electrophoresis, Immunoassays, molecular biology techniques
Aseptic Techniques
Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
Qualifications: Education to degree level or above with experience in a Process Development / GMP production environment (preferably with biological investigational medicinal products) and experience in a supervisory role.
