The Client is a rapidly growing European specialty pharmaceutical company focusing on the discovery, development and commercialisation of innovative drugs for the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. The lead product is an innovative drug which has received EU27 approval in October 2009. It is establishing itself successfully on the markets. A broad portfolio of further drug candidates will enable the company to focus on a diverse range of indications and underserved GI areas. It helps the company to position itself well for long-term growth and to achieve its set goal of becoming a premier European GI specialty company.
Position Description
Developing and maintaining professional relationships with key physicians, pharmacists and patient associations
Motivating and integrating existing sales force in Germany
Where applicable, hiring and supervising of staff
Overseeing all activities related to the marketing and promotion of the Client's products in Germany
Drawing up of successful launch plans for any products that gain approval in Germany and beyond
Establishing pricing strategies and monitor sales budgets for Germany
Readiness to take on further tasks in the general management of the German business
Growing into future leadership responsibilities with the companies developing corporate organization.
Qualifications:
BS/BA degree or German equivalent in business or life sciences; MBA would be well viewed
Minimum of 5 years senior management experience in Germany and strong commercial focus
Experience in commercial operations in the German market and contacts in GI market
Well versed in developing and executing business plans with a high level of independence
Ideally experienced in hands on smaller operations and happy to help build a growing business
Ability to react to rapidly-changing priorities and effectively impact immediate change
Adept conceptual thinker with analytical and problem-solving skills and entrepreneurial mind-set
Passion and fortitude to lead initiatives with considerable complexity
Ability to present compelling supporting facts and back up data in German and English
Excellent communication ability, both verbal and written, at all levels in German and English
The ability and desire to interact with multidisciplinary teams and to work closely with opinion leaders.
