We are seeking an experienced Physician for the position of Medical Adviser Haematology/Oncology, for the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region. You will take responsibility for developing and executing the EMEA Medical Affairs strategic plan for a new Haematology product due for launch later in 2010.
Your responsibilities will include Key Opinion Leader (KOL) mapping and deployment plans, the delivery of symposia at regional congresses and co-ordinating local and global publications strategies for maximum impact. You will drive regional medical affairs activities including phase IV clinical development studies in the EU affiliate offices, effectively matrix managing local medical affairs staff in conjunction with their senior Country Managers to ensure that a cohesive strategy is observed throughout the region. You will also work in partnership with national Marketing Directors on the development and execution of EMEA marketing plans, signing off medical-marketing materials and providing medical affairs input into other commercial activities.
You should be a fully GMC-registered Physician with post-registration clinical experience and first-hand knowledge of Haematology and ideally also Oncology products. This should preferably have been gained through a combination of clinical practice and pharmaceutical industry experience, although candidates seeking their first industry position will also be considered. You must have strong communication skills and a proven ability to build relationships with KOL level physicians. An awareness of the principles of the ABPI Code of Practice and EMEA regulations for the promotion of drugs is also required.
