Medical Adviser / Medical Director; Nordic

We are seeking an experienced Physician for the position of Medical Adviser / Medical Director for the Nordic region. You will take personal responsibility for developing and executing local elements of the Medical Affairs strategic plan in the Nordic region for a new Haematology product due for launch later in 2010. You will also manage medical affairs activities for the total portfolio of specialty hospital products and biosimilars, working in close partnership with Sales & Marketing colleagues to maximise brand value in the Nordic market.

You will identify and develop Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia, as well as influential regulatory authority and government contacts in order to successfully deliver medical affairs plans and activities in the Nordic countries. This will include implementation of local scientific publication and communication strategies, phase IV clinical study initiatives and management of the pricing and reimbursement environment and named patient compassionate supply programme prior to product launch.

You should be a registered Physician in Sweden, Finland, Norway or Denmark, with post-registration clinical experience and first-hand knowledge of both Haematology and Oncology. This should ideally have been gained through a combination of clinical practice and pharmaceutical industry experience, although candidates seeking their first industry position will also be considered. You must have strong communication skills including professional level competence in English, Swedish and ideally Finnish, with proven ability to build relationships with KOL level physicians. An awareness of the principles of relevant regulations for the promotion of drugs in the Nordic region is also required.
