Business Development Director; Phase I Services (Europe)

You will join a major international organisation, committed to the delivery of world-class development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. As part of a substantial and on-going investment in both staff and technology, the company now requires an innovative and forward-thinking Business Development Director with the vision and drive to further grow the company's Phase I service offering across Europe, but with a particular focus in Scandinavia.

Reporting to the Senior Director for Business Development for Europe, the Business Development Director will be expected to identify new business opportunities whilst managing key accounts and driving revenue growth towards achieving business objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

• winning new clinical trial work (especially from Scandinavian clients) for Early Phase whilst managing existing key accounts
• hosting client visits and make presentations to prospective clients, set up and attend on site client visits and appropriate conferences
• acting as the relationship manager for selected key customers.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following experience:

• A BSc and ideally an MBA
• Significant industry (ideally CRO) experience coupled with a proven track record in sales/business development (ideally having 'sold' Phase I previously)
• Strong European network of contacts, especially within Scandinavia
• Focused on quality and achieving results and must be goal orientated and driven.
